If you have arrived to Yerevan on Friday, spend the day as you like since the group activities will start only on the next morning with the city excursion. Visit to the Mother Armenia monument and the Matenadaran Institute of Ancient Manuscripts. However, form the top of the Modern art center Cascade you can enjoy the panoramic view of the city and the Mt Ararat. Visit also the Opera House, the Northern Avenue, the Square of Republic, as well as to the Armenian Genocide Memorial. On the next morning head to Echmiadzin - the spiritual and administrative center of Armenia, visit to the churches, and the Main Cathedral of Echmiadzin. Continue to Yerevan, visiting the 7th century ruins of Zvartnots Temple en route. Take a tour of “Vernissage” and the fruit market, and buy some souvenirs in Yerevan.
Then head to Khor Virap - one of the holy places for the Christian world. It is the place of imprisonment of St. Gregory the Illuminator, who stayed here in the small dungeon for 13 years accused of preaching Christianity. Be charmed by the scenic location of the church with a panoramic view to the Mt Ararat. Drive to the masterpiece of medieval Armenian architecture, the 14th century Noravank monastery, and stop for the wine tasting at the local wine factory in Areni. Leave the Yerevan and head to Garni, the only remaining pagan temple in Armenia devoted to the God of the Sun in the morning. The temple is a Greco-Roman style building with characteristic pillars and it stands proudly on a rocky ridge with a deep canyon presenting beautiful views. It served as a summer residence of Arshakid dynasty. Visit to the 13th century cave monastery of Geghard and continue to the Lake Sevan that is one of the biggest high mountainous freshwater lakes in Eurasia. After visit to the Sevanavank Monastery and continue to the resort town of Dilijan with the historic district of the Old Dilijan. Then drive to Alaverdi, visit to the Haghpat Monastery and continue to Tbilisi.
On the next day follow the Military Georgian Road. At first visit to the Ananuri Fortress, then drive up to the Gergeti Trinity Church with the beautiful views of Kazbegi mountain peak and the village. The Georgian Military Road is the historical name of the route through the Caucasian Mountains - form Georgia to Russia (220 km) and it is very pictorial. Then visit to the architectural complex of Jvari, the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral and the Samtavro Convent in the old capital of Mtskheta. Continue with the visit of the Uplistsikhe, the Stalin's birth place, and the Museum of Gori. Go from Tbilisi to other big Georgian city, the Kutaisi, in the closing part of excursion. Explore the Old Town, visit to the Bagrati Temple, the historic and architectural complex of Gelati and the Motsameta Monastery. Stay there for one night. On the next day drive to the Okatse Canyons, the natural monument in Village Gordi. It is deep and narrow ravine, in the vicinity of the river Okatse. Return to Tbilisi in the evening to have one more night there.
