During this trip you will discover the region of Indochina and visit the most exciting places in Thailand, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.
Take a guided longtail boat klong tour in Bangkok and visit the Wat Po temple. Have an option to visit the Grand Palace or National Museum and take an overnight train to Chiang Mai. There you will have a guided tour of Doi Suthep temple and hopefully will have a chance to watch chanting of the monks. Take an optional bike tour of Chiang Mai, cooking lessons, city walking tour and visit nearby temples. Head to Chiang Khong via Wat Rong Khun and enjoy your first view to the mighty Mekong River. Cross the river into Laos in a day boat cruise down the Mekong, relax and watch the world go by, and visit the traditional village. Take a town and local market walk in Pakbeng, visit the Pak Ou caves, Kuang Si waterfalls and the Ethnology Museum. You can take an optional biking trip, elephant trek, cooking class, shopping in the night market, and explore the town. Spend the night in a local village enjoying traditional Laotian food. Then drive to the picturesque Vang Vieng town surrounded by limestone karsts of the Nam Song River. Vang Vieng is ideal place for exploring the countryside by bicycle, visiting the caves, taking a boat trip and swimming. When spending time in Vientiane, take an optional city tour, visit the National Museum, That Luang, and the market.
The next two days you will spend in Hanoi – enjoy the Water Puppets Show and Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum. Take an option to visit Temple of Literature, Hoa Lo Prison, museums and the Old Quarter. Then take an overnight cruise around Halong Bay, visit caves, swim and enjoy the included seafood lunch and dinner. Have an optional kayaking around Halong Bay and take an overnight train to Hue. Go to a guided tour of the Imperial Citadel and Royal Tomb. Hoi An is beautiful historical city to enjoy optional cooking class, take a boat cruise or visit the famous local tailor shops. Then fly to Ho Chi Minh City to have a guided tour of Cu Chi tunnels, optional visit of War Remnants museum, Ben Thahn market, and the Colonial Quarter of "36 streets". Then have a day trip to Mekong Delta, boat cruise and visit to traditional candy-making factories. Travel from Ho Chi Minh City to Phnom Penh, have a tour of Tuol Sleng Prison and such a tragically place as Choeung Ek or the Killing Fields – the place, where over a million of oppositionists of the rule of Khmer Rouge were killed in the time period between the 1975 and 1979. Take an option to visit the National Museum and Royal Palace, go shopping at the Central or Russian Market. Have a guided tour of Angkor Wat temple complex and optional visit to Tonle Sap floating village and Angkor National Museum. To close the trip, cross the border into Thailand and go to Bangkok.
