This trip is full of unique experience and possibilities to learn about the life rhythm, legends and customs of the natives of the New Zealand – Maori.
The adventure will start from Ouklend by visiting a special conservation farm to learn about their methods of protecting the landscape from erosion and glaciers and of fostering preservation of the ecosystem. Then go sea kayaking to a remote and historic site on the harbour for a picnic lunch. Enjoy an included surf lesson on the one of the world's most famous surf areas, then optionally take bone carving lesson with the local Maori, or try paddle boarding. The next day take an optional caving hike before heading to Rotorua, which is notable for its geothermal activity – bubbling mud paddles and geysers. This is a Maori land to learn the local culture, including the traditional 'Hangi' cooking experience. Then travel around Lake Taupo and explore the volcanic World Heritage listed national parks in the area, and conquer the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, New Zealand's top-rated one trek. Then head to Wellington to visit the Te Papa Museum, and to have the city stroll. The next day you will return to Ouklend.
