This is excellent tour if you are eager to spend a week sailing the small islands, sunbathing, swimming and to explore depth snorkelling and scuba diving.
G Adventure offers you sailing the Maldives in traditional dhoni boat. White sand, blue skies and crystal-clear waters, when drifting through one of the most unique countries and enjoying stunning views to turquoise lagoons - all this awaits you. You will moor on small beaches or peaceful harbours by nights and return to Malé at the end of the tour. Moreover, enjoy all meals on board your crew will cook.
The adventure starts in the capital of Maldives - Malé. You will be met by airport representatives who will transfer you directly to the waterfront to meet your travelling companions (maximum 8 people) and have a lunch together. During the next few days you will travel Maldives and enjoy snorkelling the vibrant coral reefs of the Indian Ocean with a rich ecosystem, visit the fisherman villages, give in performances of Bodu Beru (Big Drum) and the traditional folk music of the country, savour local dishes, learn the unusual lifestyle of islanders, as well as see the large dhonis' being constructed.
The Republic of the Maldives consists of 1190 smaller and larger islands. Only 202 of them are inhibited and 87 are exclusive resort islands. This is the lowest country above the sea level - on average though 1.5 metres above sea level; the highest point is only 2.3 metres, therefore there are concerns that, due to climate changes, the country can simply drown over years. Maldives is also one of the world's smallest countries and one of the safest travel destinations on the planet due to the island resorts, which are largely isolated in addition.
